Large abstract works installed in a Colorado University and Chicago Hospital (Littleton, CO) Colorado artist Tracy Lynn Pristas is proud to announce the installation of paintings acquired by 2 large organizations­—one of higher learning, and one of healing. The first, a large scale abstract landscape, titled “Lucent Immersion” has been added to the permanent collection at Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction. The second, titled “Hushed Enchantment”, now resides at Advocate Heart Institute at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. “Lucent Immersion”, the artwork for Colorado Mesa University was selected from an open call for existing artworks by Colorado or Utah artists posted by the State Art Agency, Colorado Creative industries. The Art Selection Committee chose her work based on artistic excellence, conceptual compatibility and durable materials. The piece will be on display on the Grand Junction campus in Escalante Hall at 1100 North Avenue. This is her third painting procured for permanent University art collections, that include the University of Montana and Montana State University. “Hushed Enchantment”, a 54 by 40 inch, oil on archival canvas was commissioned by the “Advocate Heart Institute” for a project in conjunction with Chicago art consulting firm LBD Fine Art. As a Reiki practitioner (a Japanese system for channeling universal life force energy to someone or something for the purpose of healing), Pristas infuses her work with healing energy—providing the perfect addition to healthcare settings. This is the second painting acquired by Lutheran General, the first of which, hangs prominently in their main lobby. The Florida facility of the respected Mayo Clinic and Denver’s Exempla St. Joseph hospitals also display her soothing works of art. Pristas talks about the healing power of her paintings in a video that can be found at Tracy’s work will also be on exhibit from December 2 - January 31st at during a group holiday show at Artwork Network, 878 Santa Fe Drive in Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe. Tracy recently relocated to Littleton, Colorado, after 17 years in Chicago where she maintained a professional painting studio. She now enjoys the relative calm and quiet of her life near the foothills. Her artwork has been featured on Lifetime TV's series Drop Dead Diva and the blockbuster movie The Breakup as well is in private collections, Universities and healthcare settings throughout the US.
